March Meeting: Art Conservation

The March Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The Board of Directors will meet at 5:00 pm; the general meeting starts at 6:30. The guest speaker will be Susan Duhl, an Art Conservator and Collections Manager in private practice in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Ms. Duhl will talk about Art Conservation And Maintaining Art As A Tangible Asset.

Susan Duhl

Susan Duhl is a graduate of the Art Conservation Department, Cooperstown Program, State University College at Buffalo and a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation. Her practice specializes in the treatment of works on paper and in preservation consultations for museums, libraries, archives, governmental agencies, and private clients. Recent clients include the Library of Congress, the State of New Jersey Division of Records and Archives Management, and the General Sciences Library of South Viet Nam.

Ms. Duhl will talk about Art Conservation and its relationship to art, artifact, and library collections as tangible asserts, including a detailed discussion of care, management, and preservation issues. She will address participant's concerns in a post-presentation Q&A period.

The program qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit. Dinner is $35 per person for members and guests. Make checks payable to ASA Philadelphia Chapter 35.
