May Meeting: Hot Topics in Fair Value
The May Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The Board of Directors will meet at 5:00 pm; the general meeting starts at 6:30. The guest speakers will be Charles M. DeVinney, ASA, Senior Manager, Economic Advisory Services at Grant Thornton and Richard A. Hause, ASA, Executive Director at Grant Thornton of the Economic Advisory Services practice in Philadelphia, Practice Leader of the Philadelphia Valuation Services Group, and National Director of Real and Personal Property Valuation . They will discuss Hot Topics in Fair Value. The meeting will also include the annual presentation of the George D. Sinclair Award.
Charles DeVinney earned his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees at Temple University, and worked in regional banking before joining Grant Thornton. His primary focus is the valuation of closely held businesses or business interests and intangible assets for various purposes.
Richard Hause has degrees from Lamar University and Temple University, and served in an executive capacity at Marshall & Stevens and Enterprise Appraisal Company before Grant Thornton. He has served as multidiscipline, multi-location project manager on numerous valuation projects, both international and domestic. A popular speaker, he is active in ASA affairs.
The evening's theme, Hot Topics in Fair Value will be of interest to appraisers in all disciplines. Please register early for this educational and productive evening which qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit.
